I have always been a fan of Freakizoid. xD How can you resist a song where at the end the writers talk about losing their jobs if people don't watch!? Pure magic. :D

I think MASK was more of a boy's cartoon. You had to be all about transforming cars with little action figure men... it was little more than dollar signs.

I completely forgot about Camp Candy though! As to the others I'd probably take Tiny Toons over Animaniacs.

And Freakizoid was actually a pretty good show. Weird though, which I liked. It was probably a little after my time though, if I wasn't a teenager yet I most likely had hair growing in funny places.

Whhhaaat, AFTER you time?! Freakizoid is timeless, you can be 53 and love that show!

(although I hear people older then 53 dont like it, but I think they are not really the target audience...)

    What about Powerpuff Girls theme?

While, the my top list wasn't explicitly limited to the 80's, that's when I think cartoon theme songs hit a certain stride. A bad catchy song... a roll call... things that transform.
Powerpuff Girls does offer a classic example of the hero/villain clash. Group of heroes on one side, villains on the other, running toward the middle.

I dont have a top 5 , but the funky phantom was a favorite , not sure if it was the theme or the the way he spoke , perhaps a bit of both !!!

The only factor i would like to deposit to this post is that cartoons play a lot of big roles any day. Apart from the funny representation of daily life or the heroic actions an engaging consideration that a number of merchants would not figure out is the usage of cartoons to their brand image. Cartoons or Mascots if you desire to tell them improve the focus of the logo and give a vast recognition of the brand. For me personally the the most favorable example to this is the michelin car tire man. I easily recount much more this mascot instead of the supplier logo. In any case my point is that cartoons can be accepted in lots ways with a entertaining and adaptable method.

I'm a little freaked out by the Watchmen cartoon. Is that even real? Like, why is the Comedian going gaga over Silk Spectre? Thats creepy! Who read Watchmen and thought 'hmmm....OH I KNOW! LETS MAKE THIS FOR CHILDREN!'

Okay, after further investigation, I take back the previous comment, as it never happened. It would've been creepy though.
